The Census Bureau puts 3,418,895 people in the Tampa, St. Petersburg and Clearwater metro. Four counties: Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco and Hernando. The bay splits it down the middle, and so does the way people buy.
On the Tampa side, the big names are operations centers. Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase, Deloitte and Raymond James each employ thousands in Hillsborough. So do BayCare, Tampa General and MacDill Air Force Base. Those buildings run on vendors: cleaners, IT shops, insurers, contractors, staffing firms. The person you need is a facilities manager or an operations director, not the CEO in another state.
On the Pinellas side, the companies are smaller and the owner still picks up. A Clearwater manufacturer or a Gateway area services firm often buys on one good call and a short meeting. No procurement portal, no long RFP.
Here is the number that matters for outbound. County Business Patterns counts 91,335 business establishments in the metro, and 20,969 of them have 10 or more employees. That is a long list of companies big enough to pay you and small enough to answer the phone.
What most sellers here lack is not leads. It is the hours to keep calling them every day while also running the business. We fill those hours.
